Arraiolos Newyear Week WRE (Evora) Evora, in the desolate Alentejo region, always surprises, especially when it comes to orienteering! Technically extremely demanding and physically easy to run, it steadily is becoming elite-orienteers' must-do-winter-stop. Our local delegates Raquel and Tiago did organise the first Newyear Camp last year for their local club and were joined by the Finnish National team, who praised the terrains and high quality trainings. An additional 30 square kms is currently being mapped, so here comes edition #2, with a challenging WRE competition at the end!

O-Maps & Terrains: :: Terrains mostly cork-oak, wavy, fast, flat, easy running with several rocky elements and vegetation, but you will also experience some hilly terrains and a wonderfull pine tree forest. city sprints are very challenging and it narrow streets and houses offer you a taste of Alentejo culture. :: Apart from the 2008 newly mapped areas, 30 square kms are in the pipeline for autumn 2009, ready for you at the newyear camp! :: At least 1 training per day will be equiped with Sportident. :: Local Sun-O Staff members Tiago Aires & Raquel costa will plan your training courses.
